Who we are
Mitcham Removals is the data controller for information you send through this website. Our contact address for data protection matters is hello@mitcham-removals.uk.
What we collect
When you complete the quote form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the addresses of both units, your preferred date if you give one, and whatever you write in the notes. If you email us, we hold the contents of that email. Where you are enquiring on behalf of a business, we also hold the business name and your role.
The quote form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA. Google receives technical information about the request in order to distinguish a person from an automated submission, subject to Google’s own privacy policy and terms.
Commercial confidentiality
A commercial survey necessarily exposes us to information about how your business works — stock levels, equipment, layouts, customer-facing arrangements and sometimes your reasons for moving. We treat all of it as confidential.
We do not name clients publicly without written permission, we do not use your premises in marketing material, and we do not discuss one client’s operation with another. Where you want that written down formally, we will sign a non-disclosure agreement.
Files and records we move for you
Where we move personnel records, client files or other material containing personal data, we act as a processor on your behalf rather than as a controller. We do not open, read, copy or retain the contents.
Where you need a documented chain of custody, those crates are sealed, numbered and signed for at both ends, and we keep the signed record with the job file.
Why we hold your enquiry
To survey, quote and carry out the work. That is our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you started, and where you instruct us, performance of a contract.
We do not sell or pass enquiry details to lead-generation companies.
Who else sees it
Our own staff and crew, and our hosting and email providers, who process it on our behalf under contract. Where the job involves a storage facility, a specialist decommissioning contractor or a partner crew at the receiving end, we share only what they need. Where your landlord or estate manager requires our insurance documents, what we send them is about us, not about you.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become instructions are deleted once they are plainly stale. Completed jobs are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, insurance and claims purposes, and then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@mitcham-removals.uk. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
